Permissions & Copyright

All content published by the Church of Ireland Gazette, in both print and digital formats, is protected by copyright and may not be reproduced, republished, or distributed without prior written permission.

This page sets out our policy regarding the use of our editorial content, images, and digital materials, as well as how to report copyright concerns related to material published by the Gazette.


1. Copyright Ownership

Unless otherwise stated, all content on this website and in the printed edition — including but not limited to articles, editorials, news items, photographs, graphics, videos, headlines, logos, and layout design — is the intellectual property of the Church of Ireland Press or its licensors, and is protected under national and international copyright laws.

This applies to all material published under the Gazette’s name, regardless of platform or publication method.


2. Permissions Policy

Reproduction of any content from the Church of Ireland Gazette is strictly prohibited without our prior written consent.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Republishing articles on websites, blogs, or social media

  • Printing or photocopying content for distribution

  • Uploading scanned pages or extracts to digital platforms

  • Using our content in newsletters, reports, or educational resources

  • Translating our content into another language

  • Using images or graphics for any public or commercial use

You may quote brief excerpts (up to 100 words) of our publicly accessible online content for non-commercial, educational, or journalistic purposes, provided that:

  • The quote is fully attributed to the Church of Ireland Gazette

  • A visible and working link is provided to the original article on our website

  • No part of the material is altered or presented out of context

Systematic extraction or reuse of content, even if attributed, is not permitted without prior written approval.


4. Third-Party Content

Some material published in the Gazette may be credited to freelance contributors, photographers, agencies, or third-party organisations. Permission to reproduce such material must be sought directly from the original copyright holder where applicable.

We take copyright concerns seriously and will aim to respond within 10 working days. If necessary, we will correct the attribution, remove the material, or initiate follow-up.


6. Unauthorised Use

Any unauthorised reproduction, distribution, or exploitation of our content is a breach of copyright and may result in legal action.

We reserve the right to enforce our intellectual property rights to the fullest extent permitted by law.
